Château La Tilleraie AOC Pécharmant 2006 – Guide Hachette 2010 A deep cherry-red in colour. The nose or bouquet offers many individual aromas of red and blackcurrants and other small fruit, with hints of animal, leather and even toast. Its immediate “attack” shows it to be supple and clearly of high quality; full in the mouth, with a long finish, the powerfulness of the wine serves to enhance its overall finesse. This Pécharmant 2001 goes perfectly with dishes for which the Périgord is famed, such as civet de canard, confits or magrets (jugged, preserved or breast of duck), as well as pan-fried liver and soft cheese.
AOC Bergerac Rouge 2008 An intense ruby colour, with a lovely mix of such smells as strawberries, blackcurrants and blackberries, and a slightly smoky touch. In the mouth, it is elegant yet easy to appreciate, its fruitiness backed by well- balanced tannins, and with a really pleasing finish. The wine goes well with grilled meat, white meats, poultry, rabbit, and mild cheeses.
AOC Bergerac Rosé 2009 – Guide Hachette 2011 Gentle and well-rounded, it has a bouquet rich with notes of strawberries and raspberries, the fruitiness in the taste being nicely enhanced by residual sugar. Very long in the mouth, it is somewhat original in character and clearly a rosé of distinction. It goes best with salads, cold chicken or turkey, charcuterie, terrines, and Asian cuisine. Served cool, it makes the perfect accompaniment for spring and summer meals and picnics.
MADEO AOC Bergerac Blanc Sec 2009 Light yellow in colour, with a typical “nose” of ripe sauvignon. Lively and balanced in the mouth, with a slight lemony finish. An ideal wine to accompany shellfish and fish in a sauce. At the end of a meal, it also goes well with goat’s cheese, a fruit mousse or a bavarois.
AOC Côtes de Bergerac Moelleux 2009 This sweet white wine, its yellow colour slightly tinged with gold, has a gentle floral bouquet, good balance, and a very pleasant finish. Its richness in the mouth matches beautifully with dried fruits and such desserts as chocolate mousse or Poire Belle Hélène.
AOC Monbazillac 2007 Rather than the traditional, very sweet nature of a dessert wine, it is the fruity character that predominates in this lovely golden Monbazillac. The bouquet offers notes of both flowers and preserved fruits; the “attack” is gentle and well-balanced; the wine is full in the mouth and with a long finish. It makes a marvellous apéritif, but also goes perfectly with foie gras, chicken and turkey, fish in a sauce, Roquefort cheese, fruitcake and fruit salads.
